Students at CSMC
Welcome to Cambridge! Wherever you are studying, you are most welcome at Castle Street Methodist Church. We are a progressive church committed to justice, inclusivity and diversity. Students are very much a valuable part of our congregation and fellowship but we also pride ourselves in celebrating your identity as more than just ‘a student.’ Here you will find a family similar to your church back home or if you’re new to faith and exploring…a place for you to grow and learn surrounded by a supportive fellowship. You are welcome whether you are fresher or returner, just out of home or a mature student. We are linked with Student Christian Movement.
Table Talk
Our student ministry on a Wednesday evening during term time is Table Talk; food friendship and conversations about faith. Dedicated for students and young adults, we start at 7pm with food, share in conversation and fellowship before delving into deeper topics which is decided at the beginning of each term. We also encourage students to lead a Sunday service once a term which is always great fun and an opportunity to explore any callings to preach and serve God in worship. We finish with a time of prayer and are done by 9pm. We meet in the hall which can be accessed via the St Peter’s Street entrance or the glass door down the passage on Castle Street.
We always offer vegetarian food, and always pudding! If you have other dietary requirements (eg vegan, gluten free) please just let us know but we tend to have options for everyone. If you have any anxieties about eating or wrestle with an eating disorder, you are still welcome, and we will support you on your journey; there is no pressure to eat.
